Hahaha, thanks, Amberchan! I will!!! *Drools over Amberchan in cheerleader outfit* Surprised

Well, I'll be away for four days, two of which I'll spend traveling. Laughing Most likely, I won't find out right away if I've gotten in, but rather be told sometime in october. And yeah, Boden is where I'll go again if I get in. That's where we'll be stationed, because it's where the Regiment lies. But we might go away for a couple of days at a time to different shooting ranges and shooting fields in and around Sweden, maybe even go abroad for international exercises. (THAT, would be fun!!! Wink )

And I WILL get you some photos and hopefully videos and stuff! Pinky promise! Surprised

By the way, I've been so excited about Boden that my birthday snuck up on me without my noticing! Curse me for lowering my guard! Mad So, yeah, I turn 24 on the 26th. I feel old. silent

Ah so a days travel to get up there huh? And on train.. wow, bring a pillow!!

I've known its your birthday for a while now Very Happy I was considering what to do for it.. probably razz your facebook page or your house.. again.. or something like that. I'd secretly send you something except you moved.. and I'd have to ask for your address.. then it wouldn't be secret anymore. Sad

24 isn't so bad, I've been 24 for 10 months and I've liked it so far. The only thing I don't like is that it preceeds 25.. Evil or Very Mad

I'm not saying hello to you. There should have been a dancer in there.. You didn't see one did you? I was going to pull out my big guns and put my romantic writing talents to good use for your birthday. But if the Dancer isn't there...

So you started the party without us? And you ate her bra? That smacks of something rude, and kinky.. What am I going to do now? *looks through purse* I might have a replacement..

*after an eternity of digging Stone pulls out a lacey bra and holds it up * It's not edible, but I think it will do the trick!

*digs through cake to find the dancer and takes her into the back room to change.* Ok Birthday boy, you have two options, she can come out and dance, or I can send her home and you can dive back into the cake. Just telling you if she dances.. I'll have to PM it because it would be horrible for young eyes to accidently see it.

It's a difficult choice, but for the sake of my brain's sanctity, I think I'll have to go with eating the cake. Laughing

Hey, Amber! Sorry for the late reply and stuff. Laughing For some reason, I didn't get an email alert to the replies on this forum. Stupid hotmail... >_>

Anyways, I went there and did the tests and interview. It felt good. The train was boring, but, eeh, not too bad. I didn't freeze too much, but then again winter hasn't arrived yet (40 degrees minus, Celsius, according to the Northerners who applied to the unit with me...), no gun shooting, my foot is fine, AND, I got a good vibe from them. Now all I can do is wait for a yes or no from them. Laughing

Thanks for the warm welcome back, Amberchan. Wink

Unfortunately, I didn't really get any time to take photos, so I only have four or so of them. I'll upload them one of these days for you, and get more for you when I move up there. Razz

Re: Lox's lavvu

Post  Loxley on Thu Oct 21, 2010 8:53 am

So, I was at the Swedish variation of the Recruitment office for the military today. I did some physical tests, doctor's tests and yada yada. Everything went excellent, except my left eye which had decided to mess with me on this of every day possible. I probably strained it when I was surfing the web late yesterda, stupid me, so I got far less than I usually get on the eye test on my left eye.

Meaning, I probably will have to wear glasses in the military until I can convince them my retarded left eye is just fine. Rolling Eyes Possibly, when I have the munnies I'll do some kind of lasek (laser) eye surgery or somesuch, which should make my eye a bit better. Or, I'll just go to an eye doctor when I'm up there, get my 0,5 on the left eye, and be done with the crappy four-eye thingie. Razz

Just kidding. About the four eye thingie at least. Anyways.

The day ended with me sitting down with a job councelor and looking through the possible jobs I had to pick between. It was everything from fireman in the Air Force to deckhand in the Navy, and, of course, the infantry. Cool In the end, we decided I would try my hands at being a - stay with me here, this is a long name when translated to English - ground fighting squad leader. So, if I'm one of the people picked, that's what I'll be trained for during the GMU (Basic military training, which has replaced the military service) for three months, before possibly taking a job in the military.

He had to do a lot of convincing to get me to accept the "squad leader" part, though, since I didn't want that kind of job and responsibility until I knew the job a bit better. He even went so far as to say I was a bit chicken for not wanting to do that (despite that, and considering I was apparently a 7 on aptitude for leading, I am older than most who do the GMU, and thus more experienced, I have both security guard and military security guard training, and I've already done the military draft). When he put it that way, I couldn't say much in my defense, so I just relented, and said, "Ok, let's go with it". Laughing

The training, if I'm accepted, will take place at TrängR, one of the regiments I applied to this summer (the escort soldier gig). I'm guessing that the ground fighting squad leader is just a technical term for an escort group squad leader at TrängR, so, again if I get accepted, that's what they'll train me to do for three months, and then I can start working there if everything works out.

I won't know until in december, but until then I'll just keep looking for work. Razz

And, I get to stash away some of the money (4500 per month taxfree for the GMU, a shitload of more when the actual job starts if I get recruited after that), which is always nice. Whatever happens, though, I've decided that at the very least, in a few years, I'm going to have saved up enough money to go to Scotland and study either archaeology or adventure tourism. It's what I want to do, and I think it's what I'm going to use to motivate me that little extra bit when and if I'm in the military. Smile

Awesome awesome awesome! But I'm still a little confused.. are you in or not? It sounds like they called ya, but you still have to wait! This is freaking me out, so I can't even imagine what YOU are going through. I'm sorry, *throughs all the luck I've got at you* Don't worry, I'm immune to luck Very Happy So i don't need it, you may have it all.

Did you know? Girls don't make passes to guys who wear glasses? Very Happy I'm kidding, I was actually told that by someone while wearing my glasses (I switched the girl and guy spots, I don't care if girls wont make passes at me), to say the least I don't wear them anymore. (could be that I lost them.. but who really knows?)

Scotland is a good goal. Keep your eye on the prize, and off the smutt on your computer Razz That'll help your eyesight too!!

I'm proud of ya dude!
