Thanks, Amberchan. It's gardening and moving-stuff work mostly. It's only for a week so far, but it still means I'll get some money, and there's always a chance for more work later on, so I'm not complaining. As for my foot, that pesky little traitor better get better or I'll kick its butt. >_>

Um... good, luck (?) with that. I'm sure you've put the fear of god into your foot now.
\o/ Yard work. I personally don't like it because I HATE dirt, I hate being dirty. I can only weed for an hour, before I have to take a shower. But I think its fun, and it looks pretty when you're done. And its good to be outside. And if its really hot you can take off your shirt!! Win win!

Well, you know, I like getting down and dirty, so to speak. (I'm talking about gardening here, you perve... >_> ) There's some Zen-like thing about doing it. Of course, my laziness usually takes over and I don't get around to doing it. But this time it's work, so fair enough. It'll be good for a week or two of work at least. And yes, I can take off my shirt.
Oh, hey! Today, my jogging went extra well, because I jogged an even greater distance than I've done before. I don't really dare to guess how far I ran, but I'm guessing I'm clocking in at around 2 km today. Still, it's not nearly enough. I've got to be able to run 10 km, or I can't call myself physically fit. >_>

Re: Lox's lavvu
So, I've started work yesterday. Two days and I'm already beat. I knew I was out of shape, but... Anyway, I skipped jogging yesterday because I was so tired, but I managed to pull through today. I remember last time I worked there I gave up completely on the work-out routine because I was always so tired after work. I'm not gonna do that this time around, so to prevent it, I'm going to, if necessary, cut down on the workout. I'm going to try and keep at the every day jogging, and three days a week upper body muscles. I'll do some leg work-outs in the weekend too, so I should be alright.
Oh, and theories about how long I will work there have varied from one week (my original theory) to working there the whole summer (my mom's theory). The most plausible I've heard so far is by one of the gardeners I'm working under, who said I was probably looking at at least a month worth of work. Hey, I'm not complaining.
I've already decided on how to spend most of the paycheck, too; new Xbox 360, Mass Effect 2, candy, rent, hopefully a trip up to Stockholm for the Army tests and interview, and lastly, savings.
Aaaaanyway, I'm beat, so I'm gonna go take a nap or eat or something. Toodles, y'all.

I love that candy is on your list of important things. Right next to rent. You make me laugh.
Woohoo! Go go go, do that work out, drop and give me 50! NOW! I can wait for your response....

Re: Lox's lavvu
That's one of my missions in life, to make pretty girls laugh.
And I can barely do 50. I'm so weak in my arms. I need a drill sergeant.
Anyways, from the look of it, right now I'm looking at at least a month of work, which means about 16-20 000 Swedish crowns in paycheck, which is nice. That'll sustain me for the summer, allow me to go out on my hobo trip....and buy Mass Effect 2 and a new Xbox 360, and all that other stuff I listed. Oh, and pay that stupid rent. >_>
No word from the military yet, but they'll call any day now I'm sure. I haven't gotten around to send in the application for the Amphibious Corps yet, but I'll do that this weekend at the latest. So that's that. I'm actually not sure which one I'd rather work with, the Amphibious Corps or the Life Guards/Light Mechanized Battalion, but Amphibious Rifleman sounds more badass than mechanized rifleman, don'tyathink?
Ok, I'm tired and rambling now, so I'm just gonna head off to bed.
BUT, before I do. Here's a bonus to y'all. It's Clint Eastwood singing Burning Bridges, the intro song from Kelly's Heroes:

Nighty, y'all!

Re: Lox's lavvu
So today I finally sent in the application for the Amphibious Corps. I'm really hoping I get this one, mostly because, well, let's face it, it'll be the most fun, the most braggable, and to boot, the 2nd Amphibious Battalion, which is the unit they're recruiting for, will be scheduled to go to Afghanistan in fall 2011. Now, I'm not saying that part will be fun, but it IS something I want to do. No point in hiding that. So, yeah, this is my number one choice if I get the chance. Either way, as long as I get in, I'll be a very happy (and constantly tired!) man.
Oh! Update on the workout as well. Get this. I've been slacking a tiny bit with the workout due to being tired from work. I try to keep the schedule of workout one day and jogging the next day, and so on, right now. It's interesting to see that I can actually run much further now.
I guess due to the fact my body might have been given the chance to rest up or something. Anyway, I still don't know how far it is because I have no way of measuring. One of these days I might walk up to this recreational area a bit further after the 10-km run I've done, and jog around there instead since they have set out routes so you know how far you've run. A guess from my side now, though, is, I can probably run 4 km or so.
Which, incidentally, is a great feeling.
And yes, I still like to write really long and pointless posts.

They aren't long and pointless!! They are just the right size (if not too small) and very interesting/entertaining. You are doing something worthwhile, and comendable! Now if you were writing long post about .. say... turnips. I might say something about it. Or how curly your hair is.. btw did you cut it?
Anyway I'm excited to see where you go from here, which um... group, you are assigned too.
On a different note, I hope you have been doing something fun to counteract all the hard work you've been doing. You know what they say. "All work and no play makes Loxely a dull boy." or something like that.

Re: Lox's lavvu
Thanks, Amberchan. And nope, I haven't cut the hair yet. As soon as I get my paycheck I think I will, though. And naw, no fun so far. Only work and workout. As soon as I get my paycheck I'll buy an Xbox 360, and, well, you know the rest. Then I'll have my fun.
So, I talked with a friend in the Army, who thought I'd have to wait for a reply from the military to the second half of the month, meaning anywhere between tomorrow and the end of the month is when I might get a call from an Army Captain. For the first gig I applied to at least. The other gig, well, who knows when that'll come.
Oh, and before I forget. We cleaned out the apartment in Växjö this thursday since it was a day off from work (also known as a holiday). I brought home a lot of stuff, including Bontakun. Now he's sitting right next to my tequila again. I had to put him in a special transport whisky glass to make sure he didn't lose his head during transport. But he got home to Scania safe and sound.
Quote of the day:
"He's gonna take my girl... I'm gonna take his bike." Marlboro Man (Don Johnson) from "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man". Great movie.

You put him in a whiskey glass? ... um.. Well I suppose the important thing is that he's safe. Glad you didn't leave him. He gets lonely, he probably has abandonment issues now though..
Hope you get your call soon! *crosses fingers*

Just for clarification, it was an empty whisky glass.
And thanks, Amberchan. I feel lucky knowing I have such great friends wishing me good luck. And it also makes me feel I cannot fail.

Re: Lox's lavvu
Ok. I've got two pieces of good news, and one piece of bad news. None of it regarding my military application unfortunately.
First of all, today I jogged the 10 km lap, with only a two minute breather around the turning point/5 km spot. Which is awesome, because that was the only pause I took in the jogging. So, yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself now. BUT, unfortunately, my right ankle is giving me a hassle again today after that run. >_< I'm not sure if it's just muscle aching from the running, or something more sinister. I'm thinking about going and seeing a foot doctor about it if it keeps up. We'll see.
The last piece of news is, I have developed a second man-crush, besides Don Johnson. This time it's a crush on the awesomely cool and manly Mr Tokai from the manga "Sanctuary" (which I recommend everyone and everything to read!!!), a Yakuza who loves women and is totally, insanely badass. And, who, incidentally, as agreed upon by me and Ren, I look similar to when I'm unshaven.
Here he is:
I'm going to go for that look in the future. Totally.

Re: Lox's lavvu
So, I went out jogging again today. My feet were still a bit sore from the 10 km run four days ago. Now they're both pretty messed up, but honestly, I can't say I give a crap. I find that I can't stand not being able to jog, so, meh, I basically jogged despite the slight ache remaining. Now they're stiff and painful, but it'll probably get better tomorrow. I'm gonna go see a foot doctor and hear his opinion on these aches I get after the jogging, and see what he has to say about it. My own guess is, though, I need arch supporters for my feet in the jogging shoes. I had those in my regular shoes as a kid.
And also, as soon as I get paid, I'm gonna start either swimming or going to a gym and using the exercise bicycle, instead of some of the jogging, to relieve the feet a bit for a while. It feels like a waste of money since jogging is free, and swimming and gyms are expensive as hell, but, what can you do?
Also, my job is coming up on its last week soon. After that's over, I'm gonna take a week or two off for rest and some serious Mass Effect 2 doping. After that, I'll be heading out on my hobo trip. I promise y'all I'll be more active here from then on. After the job has ended, that is. I can't promise much activity during the hobo trip, for obvious reasons, but before and after, I'll be active here again.
And yeah, still no word from the military. BUT, as we all know, military has one thing in common with the Church. Everything involved with it, well, or at least recruiting processes, takes foreeeeeeeeeever... >_>
That's all for now. Lox, over and out.

Ok I need to seriously mess with the system that thinks just because your thread is "popular" means it doesn't get to light up when theres a new post!! I've been checking EVERY DAY! and it's never light up so I go away sad. Today however I had to really check, because of something you said on facebook.
And lo and behold! THERES POSTS!! I feel like the biggest idiot, and laziest friend EVER! I'm sorry *pouty face* please forgive me *pleads* ??
I'm sorry to hear about your feet, without the right shoes running can be dangerous. It doesn't really help that the right shoes cost a WHOLE lot more then the wrong ones.. I think you'll like swimming, it's fun Just remember to wear sunscreen if its an outdoor pool.
You are the only male I know who has two man crushes. I only know one other who even has a man crush, so thats saying something. Still, he does look ruggedly handsome, and maybe a bit like you.. hmmm.... I thought you didn't like Mangas?

Re: Lox's lavvu
Awww, I could never be mad at you, Amberchan.
As for my feet, they've gotten better - and then I went out and jogged, and they started acting up a bit again. I'm gonna bet my money on a pair of really good jogging shoes. If that doesn't help, then I'll go to the foot doctor and hear what he has to say about it. My final solution will be to give up jogging for something else, but I'll only do that if it's the end of the world in progress. >_>
And yes, he really is ruggedly handsome. And cool to match. I'm no fan of mangas, it's true, but, that only goes to show how awesomely good Sanctuary is. I read it through over a weekend. THAT's how good it is! You totally should read it, by the way.
So, I've finished work, and am now waiting for an Xbox 360 and Mass Effect 2 to be delivered to me by mail. Should arrive tomorrow (if I'm lucky) or wednesday (if I'm not). I'm also going to seriously up my workout a bit, mostly the muscles since I have to take it easy with the cardio/jogging for now. And, I'm going to be a bit more active here, maybe even do something in the RP section.
Still waiting for the military to call, though. Grmbl... >_>

Ah well, it will be a growing experience >.>
So you are done with work as of today? That went by fast, or at least it did this side of the atlantic ocean
I'll go poke the military office for you if you want.. they'll listen to me and if worst come to worst, you can rescue me from their dungeons Win win really.

Re: Lox's lavvu
Hahaha, yes!! Hopefully you'll grow to love Japanese audio and finally see that the Light Side have cookies too!
And yea, work is done. BUT, I got a little side-job, to clean one of their student homes three times. I did the first time yesterday. It was exhausting, and the pay is shit, but, eeh, at least I can now honestly say when I apply for work that I have experience working as a cleaner.
Also, I checked on the military's website. Apparently, they have called an initial batch of recruits in for tests, but they also stated that even if we haven't been called, there's still a chance, since more people will be called in. And that's just for the Mech Infantry job. The Amphibious Corps should begin their recruiting soon as well. And even if I fail there, they'll be recruiting 300 personnel this fall for three different units, so I'll be applying to at least two of those as well in that case. And that's just for a single regiment - there's a whole military that will do the same gradually more and more now that we're making a pro army. So it should work out rather nicely.
And if all else fails, the Swedish military will begin recruiting people for what is a de facto high school education (Something like y'all's university), to become a "specialist officer" - Swedish term for NCO's - in december. You can also choose to become a full-fledged officer. But if I fail at this and the august applications, I'm gonna apply to the specialist officer education as well, which is a 1 year, six month education, after which, you're almost guaranteed a job in the military.
SO! Between all these opportunities, somewhere, somehow I should be able to get a foot back into the military for some honest grunt work - you know, blow shit up, shooting at people I don't know, marching a lot, throwing hand grenades and guarding the Royal Castle in Stockholm. That sort'a stuff.
Ok, that's all for now. Oh, and sorry for my lack of presence despite promising an increased presence here. I shall strive to visit here daily from now on.

You don't have to promise nothing dear, real world is more important! Always and forever. It's not like we are curing cancer here or something.. infact if I remember right, Star said she could help us give someone cancer.
Well don't give up on the military, they are government run, and the governments loves noting more then red tape and long lines
I thought I was on the light side, when did this change? I can still keep my dark/light cookie right?

Re: Lox's lavvu
Of course you can still keep your dark side cookie.
So, I've got yet another job in the military to apply to. This one is actually the most likely one for me to get, because, a) it's located on a base where my friend from the Navy works), b) according to said friends there likely won't be many applicants, and c) it's basically the same as what I did in the Navy. Of course, I'd still rather take a job in a mech infantry unit, but I'm applying to this one now, and if I'm recruited to another unit later on, I might skip over. We'll see.
Oh, and Midsummer is coming up. I'm loading up on Irish drinking songs (Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Bloody Irish Boys, the Mahones, etc. etc. etc.). And on friday I'll be going to Malmö and get drunk with some old friends. It'll be fun. And I need some R&R methinks.
I was gonna go out jogging again today, but it's raining, so I have to wait until it stops. >_< My foot feels virtually painless now, but I know it'll ache a bit again after I've jogged, though I hope not. Anyway, it should be able to handle one more jogging day without trouble. I'll go and buy some new jogging shoes on thursday. Along with a pair of new summer shoes, 'cuz, you know, I need that too. >_>
Oh, and it just started raining like crazy. Go figure.

Well whatever you do, don't share your rain! We don't need anymore here.
Ugh.. Flogging Molly? I'm treated to them almost every freaking day, I'm not a fan, and I'm this }{ close to deleting them from I-tunes.
Well good luck with this jobby thing too! Remember: Think positive thoughts!!
Thanks for the cookie *munch*

Re: Lox's lavvu
Haha, to be fair there were only a few Molly songs, though.
And thanks! I totally AM thinking positive thoughts. I just sent my first job application via snail mail, the first one I've ever sent via said snail mail, to the Träng Regiment in Skövde. I'm feeling that I have a great chance to get this job, because my military training fits with the job description, I have a friend who works at the Regiment and who now serves as my reference person, and to boot, she said there likely won't be many applicants, so I've got everything for me except that small little tiny weeny detail called a driver's license. So keep wishing me good luck, friends.

You don't have a drivers license? I suppose thats probably normal huh? Thats probably better too.
I used up all my luck last time, I ordered more, but the place I get it has it on back order.. so I wont get it for 2-4 weeks!! Hang tight!! I'm trying to learn how to make my own.

I'd give you it if I HAD it, but I'm out! Which, in case you didn't know, means I don't have any luck either!! I can't believe I've actually stepped outside my house without even a smidge of luck.
