Beef Stew. Empty Beef Stew.

Okay, I'm having a small problem. Normally I'm a fairly good cook however I haven't made stew before and can't seem to get it to thicken, or taste very good. My mom doesn't seem to be of any help so I figured this would be the best place to ask first with all you fine people around. Any suggestions?

Hun I've never made beef stew I've always just used the can stuff. But I do know of a wonderful recepie site, everything I've ever made from this site has been amazing, so maybe it'll help you. http://allrecipes.com/Search/Recipes.aspx?WithTerm=beef%20stew
If you use it, tell me how the beef stew turns out. I want to know.

It really does depend on the recipe you are using. We have a great one that doesn't involved "thickening" However flour usually is whats used to thicken things up, or use a little powdered gravy for extra flavor. Very Happy not knowing the recipe you are using I can't help much else, have fun though.

Hmm.. Will have to take a good look at that site and obviously should have thought of gravy powder or flour...

Oh well, not much I can do about that now huh Razz

It was okay, I didn't like some of the stuff my mom got for it so I think I will shop for it myself next time.
